The marketing team is looking for a content marketing writer who can transform dense technical information into engaging (and informative) marketing content. You’ll spend most of your time writing material that increases Tugboat Logic’s reputation as a thought leader, grows awareness for our brand and generates demand for our products. You’ll be an integral part of Tugboat Logic’s marketing team, reporting to the head of content marketing.


  • Cultivate empathy for our buyer by regularly updating and maintaining our buyer personas
  • Conduct research on industry-related topics and gain a deeper understanding of the information and trends that matter most to our buyers
  • Collaborate with internal and external SMEs to enrich your content with insights from domain experts
  • Write web copy, social media posts, eBooks, guides, one-pagers, data sheets, reports, white papers, video scripts, etc. that support Tugboat Logic’s overarching business objectives
  • Optimize content for search and stay informed about new developments in the world of SEO
  • Provide editorial support to ensure content produced by the team, contractors and agencies is consistent with Tugboat Logic’s style guide
  • Ensure the content calendar and inventory are always up to date


  • You have 3+ years of experience writing marketing content for a SaaS startup
  • You’re intellectually curious and love to ask a lot of questions
  • You can write a catchy headline AND make it SEO friendly
  • The idea of writing every day is genuinely exciting to you
  • You’re creative—which means you know how to repurpose the same piece of content in a hundred different ways
  • You welcome feedback and aren’t afraid to provide it when necessary
  • You believe in writing content that genuinely helps your audience solve real problems; that’s your jam
  • You are a grammarian and have strong opinions about serial commas, semicolons, sentence-cased headlines, etc.
  • You’re interested in or curious about information security, privacy regulations and security audits
